CG ANIMATION REEL
This reel features keyframe animation projects I worked on in Autodesk Maya, using rigs created by other artists. I aimed to showcase my passion for character acting, both through pantomime and dialogue.
This project was an opportunity for me to develop and challenge my facial character acting skills. For this project, I decided to study and recreate Martin Freeman’s outstanding performance in Sherlock (2010) through keyframe animation, using the Apollo rig by Ramon Arango, instead of relying solely on self-recorded reference videos as I usually do. This has been one of my favorite CG projects to date because I learned a lot about complex facial expressions and subtle secondary actions that add nuance to the overall performance.
Sherlock Lip-Sync Project
Boxing Project
This personal project was inspired by my admiration of Muay Thai boxing. I set out to animate an intense scene where two characters had a stand-off just before the fight began.
I started with detailed storyboards to map out choreography, character placement, and camera angles. To ground the motion in realism, I recorded my own reference footage and used it to guide the characters’ actions and timing, from which I animated using the Modjadji and Mazu rigs by Ramon Arango.
After choosing music that matched the scene’s energy and pacing, I moved into blocking, creating clear, dynamic poses that conveyed weight and power. Once the structure felt solid, I transitioned into spline to refine the animation into smooth, natural movement.
Play Rehearsal
This project combined my love for musicals, lip-sync animation, and pantomime. I used an audio section from I Love Play Rehearsal (Be More Chill), created a storyboard for clarity, and filmed my own reference for the first half of the scene. For the second half, I studied ballerina movement online and drew inspiration from Isabella Boylston’s Don Quixote performance to match the song’s energy. I animated the dance using the Ellen rig by Antonio Méndez, focusing on making exaggerated ballet poses feel fluid while practicing timing and arcs.
Dokkaebi
Animator and Lighting Artist
Dokkaebi is a short film inspired by Korean folklore and tradition, where I had the opportunity to animate the main characters and contribute to the lighting team. I joined the project since the pre-production stage and assisted the rigging team by testing and troubleshooting character rigs before eventually animating the shots. I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with my friends on this project and learning how to assign textures, light scenes, and render shots using Unreal Engine.
This reel showcases a collection of traditional animation projects I created using Toon Boom Harmony, including personal work, professional work, and shots I contributed to various student short films.
2D Animation Reel
“Snapshot” Short Film
2D Animator
I worked as a rough animator on Snapshot, a heartfelt short about two best friends sharing their final moments before one moves abroad. I animated three shots and created key poses for another in Toon Boom Harmony, focusing on emotional performance to convey their bittersweet farewell.
Animation Internship at
Deep Magic Song & Drawing Co.
As an Animation Intern at Deep Magic Song & Drawing Co., I helped develop “Lines in the Dirt”, a 2D-animated music video for Brad Colerick. I created visual concepts and pitch decks, designed the main characters in Adobe Photoshop, and produced detailed character sheets and turnarounds. Collaborating in Storyboard Pro, I helped build the full animatic to define pacing and flow, and animated a polished test shot in Toon Boom Harmony that captured the project’s visual and emotional tone.

"Meat Cute" Short Film
Animation Supervisor, Animator, and Ink&Paint
As Animation Supervisor on Meat Cute, I led a team of animators to maintain a consistent visual style and personally animated and inked 10 shots in Toon Boom Harmony, focusing on character performance and timing. The project strengthened my skills in team leadership, 2D animation, and collaborative storytelling.

VisDev/Character Design
Feathers and Fur
VisDev Artist and Animator
Feathers and Fur is an animated short adapted from the director’s comic series, following Samuel, a rare hybrid navigating a world not built for him. As a visual development artist, I focused on character design and created detailed character turnarounds in Adobe Photoshop for the animators. I also animated the characters in a fun, comic-like style using Toon Boom Harmony, enjoying the creative process alongside a team of close friends.

Dating Woof
VisDev Artist
Dating Woof is a funny short film I worked on as a visual development artist, focusing on character and prop design. I created the main dog character, its speaker prop, and three background pet owners in Adobe Photoshop, and produced a full character turnaround for the animation team. I also painted key moments in Procreate to capture mood and lighting, and refined the outdoor street environment to unify the film’s visuals.
The Temple of Avarice
VisDev Artist
Besides animation, I’ve worked on short films as a visual development artist and character designer, enjoying the process of sketching characters and exploring different animation styles.
In a small village lived a poor farmer and his loving wife. Despite their modest lifestyle, the couple remained grateful for the little things they had. Many years passed, and they had two children whom they loved with all their hearts. However, unlike his parents, the eldest child, Bhakti, was unsatisfied with their way of life.
One day, Bhakti disobeyed his parents and wandered into the deepest and darkest parts of the jungle with his little sister, Dhatu. After being lost for hours, they finally found a path that could lead them back to their village, but they were distracted by a trail of tiny gold nuggets scattered along the ground, leading them deeper into the jungle. Bhakti followed the gold, with his sister close behind, until they arrived at the ruins of an abandoned temple. Filled with curiosity and greed, Bhakti entered the temple, unaware that a dangerous and deceitful monster awaited them.
The Temple of Avarice is a personal project created as part of a concept art class at ArtCenter College of Design. The story is inspired by traditional Indonesian folklore that I often heard during my childhood. For this project, I developed the narrative, designed the main characters and antagonist, and created the story’s environment. I explored a wide range of environment design variations, as well as multiple character design explorations for Bhakti and Dhatu. Throughout the process, I enjoyed pushing shape and visual language, creating visual development art that feels alive, and studying references and inspiration drawn from my own culture. The temple designs are heavily influenced by historic Indonesian architecture, particularly Bali’s Taman Ayun Temple and Pura Ulun Danu Bratan.

About Me
Hi! I'm Annaline, nice to meet you!
I'm a character animator passionate about bringing personality and emotion to life through both 2D and CG animation.
I’m completing my B.S. in Entertainment Design – Animation at Art Center College of Design. I am set to graduate in December 2025 and am available for work starting in February 2026!
I’ve contributed to several short films, including Dokkaebi, Snapshot, Meatcute, and Tim Sandal’s Side Project, taking on roles as a CG animator, 2D animator, lighting artist, and animation supervisor, and worked on Feathers and Fur and Dating Woof as a visual development artist.
In Summer 2025, I interned at Deep Magic Song and Drawing Co., where I helped develop a 2D-animated music video concept, contributing to character design, animatics, and a polished test shot, collaborating closely with the director and songwriter to refine both the visual storytelling and emotional tone.
I’m driven by a love for character acting and powerful storytelling, and outside of animation, I enjoy sketching, reading comics, writing, and singing!
I’m seeking character animation opportunities starting February 2026, and I look forward to collaborating on projects that combine engaging storytelling with charming animation!
